Where to Find Your Account Number
Every water bill prints it near the top — look for “Account No.”, “Consumer No.”, or “Reference No.” The format changes by city:
| City | Format |
|---|---|
| Lahore | 8 digits (e.g. 12345678) |
| Faisalabad | As printed on the bill |
| Multan | Like 001/000006 — include the slash |
| Rawalpindi | As printed on the bill |
| Karachi (KWSC) | 12 characters, e.g. H0020635000A |
Photograph your bill’s top section once and keep it on your phone. Next month you won’t have to dig the paper bill out again.
How to Pay Your Water Bill
Once you have the bill, payment is the easy part. Every bank’s mobile app accepts water utility payments, and so do JazzCash and EasyPaisa under “utility bills.” You can also use 1Bill (1link) from any ATM or internet banking, or simply pay at the bank counter with a printed copy. Keep the transaction ID — if a payment doesn’t reflect in 48 hours, the water authority’s helpline will ask for it.
“Bill Not Found” — Fix It in 30 Seconds
1. Wrong city selected. Lahore’s number on Multan’s portal will never work. Double-check the city first.
2. Missing slash or dash. Multan-style numbers like 001/000006 fail without the slash. Type every character.
3. Leading zeros dropped. If your number starts with 0, keep it. Portals compare the full string.
4. Spaces crept in. Copy-pasting from a photo or PDF often adds invisible spaces. Type the number manually if the first try fails.
5. Bill not uploaded yet. Bills typically appear online a few days after printing. If the paper bill just arrived, give it 2–3 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I check my WASA bill without the paper bill?
Yes — if you know your account or consumer number. Save it in your phone notes once and you’ll never need the paper bill again for online checking.
Is there one website for all WASA bills in Pakistan?
No. Each city’s water authority runs its own system — Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan have online portals, while Gujranwala and Hyderabad don’t offer online bills yet. Karachi is handled separately by KWSC.
Why does the portal say “record not found”?
Almost always a typo: wrong city selected, a skipped slash or dash, dropped leading zeros, or hidden spaces from copy-paste. Work through the five fixes above before assuming the bill isn’t uploaded.
Can I pay my WASA bill online?
Yes. Use your bank’s app, JazzCash, or EasyPaisa under utility bills, or pay through 1Bill at any ATM. You’ll need the account number from the bill.
What is the KWSC consumer number format?
Karachi Water uses a 12-character code — letters first, then digits — like H0020635000A. Enter it with no spaces on the KWSC website under “Get Your Bill.”
My city isn’t listed here. What do I do?
Smaller towns usually bill water through the municipal committee or cantonment board, not WASA. Check your bill’s header for the issuing authority’s name and website.
Is checking the bill online free?
Completely. All official WASA and KWSC portals are free to use — no account, no sign-up, no charges. Never pay a third-party site for a “bill check service.”
