ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), working under the Prime Minister’s Office, has announced 11 government jobs in Islamabad, opening a short but important window for candidates who want to work in disaster management, administration, information technology and support services.

The vacancies have been announced on a contract basis. According to the advertisement, the appointments will be made for 24 months under the Project Pay Scales, ranging from PPS-04 to PPS-08, depending on the post.

Applications must reach the authority by October 6, 2026. Candidates have been asked to apply through both post and email, and incomplete or late applications may not be considered.

For regular updates from the capital, readers can follow our Pakistan news section and the Jobs & Schemes pages on TimelyUps.

Why these NDMA jobs matter

The NDMA is Pakistan’s main federal body for disaster preparedness, response and coordination. Its work becomes especially visible during floods, earthquakes, heatwaves and other emergencies, when it coordinates with provincial authorities, rescue services and humanitarian partners.

Jobs in such an organisation are not limited to field response. Behind every emergency operation there are human resource teams, IT specialists, store and logistics staff, and communication professionals who keep systems running.

That mix is reflected in the new advertisement. The available posts cover management, technical and support roles, giving candidates from different educational and professional backgrounds a chance to apply, provided they meet the criteria given in the official notice.

Which posts are available?

According to the advertisement, a total of 11 positions are open in Islamabad. The posts are:

  • Deputy Manager HR
  • Deputy Manager RM&M
  • Assistant Manager IT Operations
  • Technician – IT Multimedia (3 posts)
  • Technician Voice & Networks (2 posts)
  • Office Assistant
  • Senior Store Supervisor
  • Store Man

Candidates should check the official advertisement carefully for the exact number of posts, the required qualification and the experience needed for each role. The pay scale also differs by position, with management roles placed at higher Project Pay Scales and support roles at comparatively lower scales.

Roles in HR, IT and administration

The Deputy Manager HR and Office Assistant posts are suited to candidates with experience in personnel files, recruitment support, office coordination and routine administration.

The IT-related posts, including Assistant Manager IT Operations, Technician IT Multimedia and Technician Voice & Networks, point to the authority’s need for reliable internal systems, communication networks and multimedia support during briefings and public information campaigns.

The store-related posts, Senior Store Supervisor and Store Man, are linked to inventory and supplies, an area that becomes critical when relief goods and equipment have to be tracked and moved quickly.

How to apply for NDMA jobs

The application process has two steps, and candidates have been advised to complete both before the deadline.

Step one – apply by post: Send a hard copy of your application to PO Box 3356, GPO Islamabad. Write the name of the post clearly on the envelope so that your application reaches the correct section without delay.

Step two – apply by email: Email your application to [email protected] and [email protected].

Applications sent through only one channel may not be considered. Applicants should therefore keep proof of posting and a copy of the sent email until the process is complete.

Documents and preparation tips

  • Prepare an updated CV with current contact details.
  • Attach copies of educational documents and experience certificates as required in the advertisement.
  • Write the post name clearly on the envelope and in the email subject where possible.
  • Keep photocopies of everything you submit for your own record.
  • Apply early so that postal delays do not cause late delivery.

Government job seekers in Islamabad are advised not to wait for the last day. Postal services can take time, and an application that reaches after October 6 may be rejected even if it was sent earlier.

What happens after you apply?

The NDMA has said that only shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and interview. There is no indication that every applicant will be contacted, so candidates who do not receive a call should understand that the authority will only reach out to those who move to the next stage.

Candidates called for interview must bring HEC-attested documents at the time of interview. Keeping attested copies ready in advance can help avoid last-minute problems.

The advertisement also makes clear that no travel allowance or daily allowance (TA/DA) will be paid for appearing in the test or interview. Candidates travelling from outside Islamabad should plan their visit accordingly.

Terms candidates should read carefully

These posts are offered on contract for 24 months under Project Pay Scales from PPS-04 to PPS-08. A contract post should not be assumed to be permanent. Candidates should read the terms in the official advertisement and on the NDMA website to understand the duration, pay and any conditions linked to extension or completion of the project.

Applicants should also avoid any person or agent who promises selection in return for money. The advertisement describes a formal application process through post and email, followed by shortlisting, test and interview. Any claim outside that process should be treated with caution.

Final advice for applicants

The deadline is close, so the safest approach is simple: read the advertisement once, prepare your documents, send the hard copy, send the email, and keep records of both.

Write the post name clearly, use the correct email addresses, and make sure your contact number and email address are written correctly so the authority can reach you if you are shortlisted.

TimelyUps will update this story if the NDMA issues any correction, extension or further instructions about these vacancies.
