The wait is over for thousands of intermediate students across Punjab. All nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) in the province have announced the schedule for the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations 2026, and the fee structure for Class 11 and 12 candidates has been revealed as well. Online portals for private registration, private admission and regular admission for the HSSC Second Annual Examination 2026 are already live on the boards’ official websites.
If you failed a subject, want to improve your marks, or are appearing as a private candidate, this is your window. Here is everything you need to know, in one place.
What the boards have announced
Two key notifications have been issued in recent days:
- 25 September 2026: Punjab boards announced the Inter Second Annual Examination 2026 schedule for Class 11 and Class 12.
- 2 October 2026: the fee structure for Class 11 and 12 second annual candidates was revealed.
- BISE Lahore has activated its online systems for private candidate registration, private admission and regular admission for the HSSC Second Annual Examination 2026.
The announcements cover all nine Punjab boards: Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal and Sargodha. Each board publishes its own subject-wise date sheet, so students should confirm their exact timings on their own board’s website.
Who can appear in the second annual exams?
The second annual examinations — the new name for what used to be called supplementary exams — are open to:
- Students who failed one or more subjects in the first annual examinations.
- Candidates who want to improve their marks or division.
- Students appearing for additional subjects.
- Private candidates who missed the first annual session.
Regular students apply through their college, while private candidates register directly through the board’s online portal.
Fee structure and deadlines: apply early, pay less
According to the notified fee structure, candidates who apply before the first deadline pay the single (normal) fee. Late applicants pay double and then triple fees in the subsequent windows — so applying early genuinely saves money. The exact amounts vary by candidate category (regular, private, improvement, additional subject), and the full detail is available in the official notification on each board’s website.
Tip: keep your previous roll number, CNIC or B-Form number and a recent photograph ready before you start the online admission form. Even a small mistake in the form can delay your roll number slip.
